Images for a Cure workshop!!

It’s getting late and I am utterly exhausted from two fabulous days in Orlando for the Images for a Cure conference hosted by the incredibly talented Kristen Weaver and an onslaught of other crazy talented pros but before I jet out of town for the next few days I wanted to throw two images on the blog from one of today’s shoots.  I really can’t take any credit – these images are gorgeous only because of the incredible modeling, hair, makeup, wardrobe, lighting and team effort of Kristen and her fabulous possy.  I will be sure to post an update later with all of the vendor info that went into the day but for now, take a peak at our shoot with Hope, a model who is as genuinely sweet as she is beautiful:)

Apart from meeting all of these fabulous people the second highlight of the day was getting to hold a pair of Christian Louboutins. long sigh.

FAQ: Perfect Bridal Makeup from my favorite YouTube sweetheart Kandee Johnson!

If you have hung around my blog or Facebook page recently you have heard me talking about my recent love for Kandee Johnson and her fabulous makeup, beauty and skincare videos on YouTube.  Basically, I want to be her best friend she is so stinkin’ sweet (and just as an awesome aside, she also loves God and has little kiddos as well – and still looks like a supermodel!)  Watch  just one video of hers and you too will fall in love with Kandee!  So, of course, I was super excited to find that she has an awesome and super helpful video on doing your own bridal makeup (which could of course apply to portrait shoots as well!).  Enjoy – and if you want a little at-home pampering trick you have to also check out her lemon sugar scrub video.  WARNING – you just might become obsessed with her and may also become addicted to her personal blog as well:)  We love you Kandee!

Inspiration: Veils and headpieces!

I photographed a beautiful wedding yesterday where the bride wore a fun floral and netting headpiece designed by her own sister!  This gave me the idea for this weeks “Item of the week!”  More and more bride’s are opting for a non-traditional alternative to the classic veil.  The veil then becomes a great way to showcase your own unique style as well as pulling in other design and color elements from your wedding decor! This is a great way to personalize your look when you have opted for a more traditional styled gown.  Headpieces can be made with anything from florals to feathers and many options can be found on Etsy (and who doesn’t want one more excuse to be on Etsy!)

Here is the head piece worn by Lizzy at yesterday’s wedding in Spring Hill. (More images to come soon!)

And here are are a few other ideas to get you started…
